Six of the best // Front door colours

When it comes to maximising your home’s curb appeal, there’s one particular area we should all be focusing on and that’s the front door. It sounds simple, but this is the first thing that people are going to look at and for little investment, updating the front door is a brilliantly easy way of transforming the way your entire home looks.

If budget allows, replacing the front door is the best option. A new front door instantly enhances your home’s appearance, and what’s more, it can greatly increase resale value. Front doors are available ‘off the peg’ but speaking from experience, it’s much better to contact a reputable, specialist company such as Reddish Joinery who can offer their expertise alongside a vast array of uPVC, timber and composite front doors that are suited to all types of property. In addition, if you really want to stand out from the crowd, they also offer bespoke doors tailored to your exact specification.

The colour of your front door also has a huge impact on your home’s curb appeal and with a vast selection of colours on the market, I thought I’d share my favourite six front door colours with you:

1 // There are so many lovely shades of darker blue available but I’m a huge fan of this Pacific Ocean Blue from Benjamin Moore.

2 // If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you’ll know about my penchant for all things grey and when it comes to front doors, grey is the ideal choice. Farrow and Ball’s Downpipe is my favourite grey and is the colour of our front door at the moment.

3 // How beautiful is this Rose Quartz front door. Winner of the pantone colour of the year, I’m seriously tempted to paint our front door this colour (although I think I might struggle to get Andy’s approval).

4 // Yellow can sometimes be a bit bright and garish, but I love this ever-so-slightly toned down shade of yellow from Little Greene.

5 // Chic and understated, Pale Blue is another firm favourite of mine.

6 // Farrow and Ball’s Lichen is a classic country garden colour and is incredibly popular for period properties and cute little cottages.
