With their innovative strollers and infamous ‘grow with your child’ high chair, the Tripp Trapp, Stokke has been firmly on my radar since having children. So when they approached me and asked me to review the Stokke Flexi Bath (the foldable baby bath) I jumped at the chance.
The Stokke Flexi Bath does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s a flexible bath! You literally fold the bath in half, pop the latch on and voila, the bath has been folded away! Ingenious!
The space saving design makes it super easy to store and it’s ideal for travelling. It’s incredibly lightweight and its flat-pack nature means it should also fit in your suitcase. It’s a perfect accompaniment for those little jaunts when you are staying in bath-less accommodation as the Stokke Flexi Bath can comfortably sit in a shower cubicle.
Another great feature is the non-slip rubber base which makes it the ideal option for smooth surfaces like tiles or laminate and there’s also no risk of it slipping about in an unfilled bath.
Phoebe isn’t sitting up yet so we have been using the additional newborn support which I can highly recommend. It means that my hands are free to wash her properly without having to prop her up with one hand and attempt the impossible by trying to get the shampoo/body wash on the sponge with the other free hand! She also looks really comfortable and content with lots of space to participate in her latest pastime – splashing mummy and daddy!
The Flexi Bath costs £35 which is pretty pricey for a baby bath. Plus, if you were to use it with a newborn you’d need to buy the Newborn Support seat separately, which costs an additional £15. However if you are a family who spend time travelling, visiting relatives and/or have little spare space in your home then I would say it is a totally worthwhile investment.
When you become a parent, packing for holidays becomes a whole different ball game. The days when you used to be able to chuck a couple of holdalls in the boot are long gone and now every spare inch of your car is filled with child paraphernalia! Therefore any product that helps to ease that load is a winner in my eyes and the Stokke Flexi Bath fits that bill!
It’s also suitable from birth to 4 years old so longevity wise, you will get good use out of it and once it has been outgrown, the spacious rectangular shape make it an ideal candidate for other uses. For instance you could use it as a toy box, a laundry basket or even as a washing up bowl when you are camping! I know we will be making use of it for many years to come, it is so durable and I am confident that it will last a very long time!
Disclosure: I was very kindly sent this bath free of charge for the purpose of this review, however all opinions are my own and I’d still rave about it even if i’d paid for it!
