Review* // Karcher K4 Compact Home Pressure Washer

storyboard447Living in Manchester, the weather really doesn’t deviate much from its reputation and all that rain has made our paving rather grubby and in need of a good scrub. Thankfully as a ‘Kärcher Super Blogger‘, I was recently sent the K4 Compact Home Pressure Washer to review and we immediately put it to good use with exceptional results. Not only has it made our paving as good as new, it has also made a whole host of other cleaning jobs much easier and quicker; our garden furniture looks revived, our wheelie bins are sparkling and our cars look showroom ready!

Like all Kärcher products the Kärcher K4 Compact Home Pressure Washer oozes quality. It’s super easy to assemble and use and it combines power with an innovative water-cooled induction motor for enhanced performance and longer life.

Ideal for cleaning all around the home, the Kärcher K4 Compact Home Pressure Washer comes with the following accessories:

Vario spray lance //

The Vario lance allows you to alter the level of water pressure to suit the task from a low-pressure detergent jet to a high pressure jet. On surfaces such as brickwork, high water pressure can damage both the brick and mortar leaving them vulnerable to frost, so being able to adjust the pressure is great.

Dirtblaster Lance //

The Dirtblaster lance provides a concentrated blast of power to remove dirt. It also provides up to 50% greater cleaning power than a standard high pressure lance.

T350 patio cleaner attachment //

This attachment is ideal for flat surfaces such as patios, decking, walls and fences. Having used it to clean the majority of our patio and driveway, it meant that we stayed relatively clean compared to using one of the lances which inevitably tends to produce a lot of spray and normally leaves me with a speckled face!

Detergent pack //

The Kärcher K4 Compact Home Pressure Washer hosts a ‘Plug & Clean’ detergent system, which makes for a quick and convenient changeover between detergents and offers a seamless cleaning experience. You can purchase many different types of ‘Plug & Clean’ detergents including Wood Cleaner, Car Shampoo, Stone Cleaner and Plastic Cleaner.

Once assembled, the Kärcher K4 Compact Home Pressure Washer is really simple to use. You simply plug in your water inlet (All Kärcher K4, K5 and K7 Pressure washers can work using a static or harvested water source drawn either using a Kärcher suction hose and filter, or connected to a water butt tap), and jet away to your hearts content, but be warned its strangely addictive!

The machine is quite heavy at just under 12kg but the smooth wheels and a higher handle offer greater portability. The lance and trigger storage facility ensure it stores neatly away when not in use, but don’t forget to drain the pressure washer before storing, especially during colder months, as the frozen water may cause the hose and/or machine to crack.

I wholeheartedly recommend the K4 Compact Home Pressure Washer to anyone looking for an exceptional quality, compact, affordable pressure washer. It’s easy to assemble, incredibly straight forward to use and leaves everything looking as good as new. It also comes with a 3 year guarantee for peace of mind.

It is currently on sale for £170 on Amazon, which at the time of publishing this post is the cheapest price I can find it selling for online.

I have reviewed the K4 Compact Home model, but there are plenty of other models available, so do check out the different options on the Kärcher website. You can also keep up to date with all things Kärcher on FacebookTwitter and YouTube.

That pressure washer looks amazing! We have a huge patio and it could look so much better with one of those but I’d never thought to get one! xReplyCancel

It looks like that you have the same type of sandstone patio slabs that we have Steph. Like yours our slabs get covered with gunk fairly easily and need a good blast with a pressure washer to bring out their beautiful colours.

I must admit that I do like it when it rains as I am working at the kitchen table (I work from home) as I look out to see that the rain has bought out the slab colours. They always look more stunning when wet imo.

I actually looked into the Karcher K2 and K4 a little while ago and the extra bar and hose length of the K4 were attractive features however I really like the aluminium pump head which is less likely to crack than the plastic pump head of the K2.

When comparing water flow with bar pressure I think that the K4 is an ideal pressure washer for light to medium domestic work.

What is your favourite Karcher model pressure washer so far Donna?ReplyCancel
