Phoebe has really enjoyed being an Ambi Toys Ambassador this year and we’ve been sent a lovely selection of toys to review. First up was the brilliant One Man Band, followed by the equally fab Pounding Apple and super cute Max Pull Along.
The latest addition to our Ambi Toy collection is the Chirpy Bird which has made bath times a lot more fun (and noisy!).
Chirpy is a bath toy and whistle all in one. Perfectly sized for little hands, it can be used as a stand alone whistle out of the bath or when your little ones fill it with water and blow into its tail, it sounds just like a bird warbling. Uncannily so actually. You can even produce varying pitches and tones by adding differing amounts of water.
Aged 4, Jack got the hang of it straight away and makes Chirpy chirp every time he blows its tail, but at 17 months Phoebe still struggles to make it chirp without help as the design is such that the ‘whistle air hole’ is, in my opinion, slightly too close to the tip of the tail. She tends to put her mouth over the whole tail which doesn’t allow any sound to be made as she blocks the air hole, so I do have to constantly pull it out of her mouth so its just resting on her lips, but when she gets it right she finds Chirpy hilarious!
Like all Ambi Toys, Chirpy is simple to use, aesthetically pleasing with nice bold colours, engaging and it’s well-constructed with smooth edges.
At £5.99, I think Chirpy is a steal (and would make a perfect stocking filler). It’s great for bathtime fun and I can definitely see both of them playing with it for a good few years yet.
*Disclosure: I was very kindly sent this Chirpy Bird free of charge for the purpose of this review, however all opinions are my own and I’d still rave about it even if i’d paid for it!
