Documenting your baby bump

When I found out I was pregnant with baby #2, I had every intention to start a weekly ‘bump diary’ and document this magical time and my changing body. Unfortunately life just seemed to get in the way, and with both terrible morning sickness and a dose of chickenpox to contend with taking weekly ‘selfies’ was the last thing on my mind. So here I am at week 33 with just a few iphone snaps documenting the journey so far and i’m really starting to regret not being more disciplined from the off! This may well be my last pregnancy and it’s a bit strange (and sad) to think that I may never go through it all again and i’ve missed the opportunity to capture the amazing changes that my body has undergone while pregnant.

So if you are in the early stages of pregnancy yourself, I urge you to be more disciplined in photographing this beautiful stage of your life (if you have the time and inclination of course!), even if it’s just a few selfies along the way! And if you are keen on documenting your pregnancy with weekly photos, there are lots of fun and creative ways to capture your growing bump, but here are a few of my favourites:

I always plan to document them more yet never get round to it! I suppose the self conscious aspect of it gets in the way too, hard to tell the bump from the flab when you’re a larger lady like me!ReplyCancel

I did manage to get some bump shots with both my pregnancies but not enough. I wish I had been more consistent with them though and made more of an effort to lay them out nicely too.ReplyCancel
