As parents we’re constantly feeling the pressure to be the ‘perfect parent’. It’s all too easy to compare ourselves to others and feel like we’re always falling short in one area or another. Whether it’s feeling inadequate standing next to the immaculately made-up mum at the school gates (whilst you have a mum-bun and minimal make-up!), watching back-to-back instastories of mums whose homes seem to run flawlessly, or measuring our crafting abilities against other mums on Pinterest, the temptation to become insecure in our mothering and homemaking role is never ending.
Thankfully Baby Dove is on hand to remind us that ‘there are no perfect mothers, only real ones‘. Baby Dove encourages mothers to do what they think is best for their baby.
Launched in March 2017, the new Baby Dove range has been created to support mothers with superior baby care products so they can get on with motherhood their way. The range builds on Dove’s 60-year heritage of moisture, mildness and gentle care and goes beyond mildness to replenish essential moisture and nutrients in baby skin.
Dermatologist tested, paediatrician approved and safe to use every day even on newborns, Baby Dove is available in two ranges; Rich Moisture range and Sensitive Moisture range.
As Phoebe has incredibly sensitive, eczema-prone skin we opted to review the Sensitive Moisture range and haven’t been disappointed. The Baby Dove Sensitive range includes three products, the Head to Toe Baby Wash, Lotion and Wipes, all of which are fragrance-free, hypoallergenic (and therefore clinically proven to minimise allergy risks) and pH neutral with tear-free cleansers.
We’ve been using all three products for a few weeks now and they really have left Phoebe’s skin silky smooth and most importantly haven’t flared up her eczema. In fact they’ve helped enormously by locking in the moisture all day and night.
The ‘Head to Toe Wash’ is ideal for daily use and creates a rich, creamy lather to keep your little one clean and nicely moisturised. Containing ¼ moisturising cream, this wash restores the essential moisture that can be lost during bathing, keeping your little one’s delicate skin soft hours after bathtime.
The ‘Lotion’ is easy to apply and gently soothes dry skin from the first use. As with all the products in the range, it’s also suitable for newborns and is dermatologist and paediatrician-tested. This has helped enormously with the numerous dry patches that Phoebe has on her body and I have to admit that I’ve been using it too!
The last product in the range is the ‘Baby Dove Sensitive Wipes’. I have been loyal to another brand of wipes since Jack was born nearly 6 years ago as they are strong, durable and reliable, but I have to say that I’ve been super impressed with the Baby Dove Sensitive Wipes. Fragrance-free, they are perfect for sensitive skin and they’re easy to pull out of the pack for quick, on-the-go cleansing. They’re also strong and moist making them ideal for changing nappies too.
Using the Baby Dove Sensitive range has worked well for us so far and I’ve been really pleased to have found a range of products that are not only gentle enough on her skin for daily use, but are brilliantly moisturising too.
Baby Dove is available now in Tesco, Asda and Boots, instore and online. Other national retailers will launch the brand later in 2017.
